Brass casing (taillight)
This brass casing I got from Piet is a real good beginning of a taillight casing.
I just made it a bit shorter and and added some red plastic glass I found in my shed. I think clear dark red glass is gonna look better, but we'll get to that after I sorted the inner electrical stuff out.
This baby is gonna look cool on my bratstyle CB500! sorry crack ointment guy!
Just messing with you! (goed gevonden he, messing!) , it's yours if you want it! Merry shitfuck!

Old brass stuff
Labels:
Copper and Brass
Piet came over bringing me all kinds of weird brass pieces. This is great stuff! ....and yes Igor, the casing is already in my backpack so you can check it out tomorrow!
Brass Horn
Labels:
Copper and Brass
When I was at the iron shop I found a huge container stacked with old copper and brass waste. Max and I rescued this beaten up horn. Maybe I can fix it up again....
Seatpan (2)
I picked up some sheet metal yesterday and started making the seatpan.
Welded some brackets and a support tube at the back.

Lead loading lessons
Labels:
Motorcycles
Today I dropped by at Igor's place to pick up some stuff and to take a look at his newly modified XS650 frame. He and Michael from General Wheels did an amazing job hardtailing the frame, the lines are great!
He also showed me how he was lead loading his gastank. First apply some crack ointment on the bare metal, then heat it with a tiny toy torch, rub some tin soldiers on it (head first) and smile! Nothing to it!

Tail light bobber style
Labels:
Copper and Brass
The man who invented customised telephone shortlists and crack ointment gave me this tail light "glass" today. I've been working on cone shapes for a while, trying to figure out how to get it in the shape I had in mind. The idea is to make the end of the cone fall over the light glass and to embed the little mounting brackets.

Silver ring
Labels:
goldsmith and blacksmith work
My wife is learning how to make jewelry on a goldsmith course, she made this silver ring. It's casted in a mold she made out of wax, it's a really cool process.
Tail light
My first attempt to make a brass taillight for Igor's XS650 bobber project. The tank cap is also in progress.....

Gas tank cap ornament (part4)
Labels:
Copper and Brass
The proto I made didn't fit ofcourse, didn't have the measurement and it was a test to see if it looked ok on the tank. It looked great so I started to make a new one. This time with the right measurements. This is how it goes the old fashion way.... Max, pay attention!
